Organizers of the App Developers Conference (ADC) have recently published the show's Session Scheduler, as well as information on two new talks: one from Movile on how it considers parents and kids for its PlayKids TV app, and one from Animoca on complying with rules from the newly passed Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
From the creators of the largest and longest-running game professional-focused Game Developers Conference (GDC), the brand new App Developers Conference (ADC) offers professionals a venue to share their knowledge about building, designing, marketing, and selling their apps. The event will commence November 5th-7th at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will be co-located with GDC Next.
In 'Don't Forget the Parents; Designing Apps for Kids,' Movile head of US operations Eduardo Henrique will discuss making apps simple enough for kids, yet appealing to parents, using the company's own PlayKids TV app [for iOS and Android] as a case study. Topics will include creating an educational UI, designing a subscription model that prevents accidental purchases, and keeping both audiences happy and engaged.
In 'A Guide to Complying with COPPA's New Privacy Rules,' Animoca (Pretty Pet series) director of strategic initiatives Henry Oh will give an overview of what you need to know to bring your app into compliance with the newly-passed Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. Oh, who was involved in the Kids in Education Working Group for the Application Developers Alliance, will also discuss what the penalties are for noncompliance, and what developers need to do if their app does not comply with the new rules.
These sessions join a number of high-profile, previously announced talks, all of which are now available on our expanding and interactive Session Scheduler. More talks will be continually added as the conference approaches.
Registration is now open for ADC and the co-located GDC Next, and the first 500 attendees who sign up can save over 30% on ADC, GDC Next, or a combined VIP Pass. For all the latest news on ADC, subscribe for updates via Facebook, Twitter, or RSS.
